Tom Wilcox


Chief Operating Officer


Tom Wilcox is the COO of the Small Business Consulting Company (SBCC). Through Strategic Partnerships with the US Air Force (USAF), he helps the Department of Defense find and connect with innovative companies to help transition their best technologies to solve critical defense mission needs. SBCC focuses on aligning partners to create a collaborative environment where entrepreneurs, industry, small businesses, startups, and capital intersect to spark innovation, build community, and create investment in technologies, services, products, production, or processes, enabling the US military to better defend the nation. Prior to joining the SBCC leadership team, Wilcox served as the Commander, Air Force Installation & Mission Support Center (AFIMSC), Air Force Materiel Command.

Tom is a 31-year Air Force Veteran. In his last role as the AFIMSC Commander, he was responsible for providing installation and mission support capabilities to 78 Air & Space Force Installations, nine major commands and two direct reporting units with an annual budget of $10 billion. His cross functional team integrated Airmen and family services, base communications, chaplain, civil engineering, financial management, logistics readiness, operational acquisition, public affairs and security forces programs across 10 detachments and four subordinate centers: the Air Force Civil Engineering Center, Air Force Installation Contracting Center, Air Force Security Forces Center and Air Force Services Center. Previously, Wilcox served as the Air Force Global Strike Command Director, Operations and Communications, and the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs, and Requirements for the Nation's Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile force, Air Force Nuclear Command, Control and Communication (NC3) weapons systems, B-1, B-2, B-21 and B-52 bombers, and the Air Force's UH-1N helicopter fleet. As a career Security Forces Officer, he commanded at the squadron and group level before being selected to command the 341st Missile Wing.
