Matthew Newell is the Senior Program Manager at the Small Business Consulting Corporation (SBCC). Prior to joining SBCC, Matt served a distinguished 25-year career in the United States Air Force (USAF), retiring as a Colonel.

While on active duty, Matt served in various leadership and staff positions. In his last active-duty job, Matt was the Director of the B-21 Integration and System Management Office where he was the liaison between Air Force Global Strike Command and the Department of the Air Force’s Rapid Capabilities Office, supporting development of the B-21 Raider Bomber, the Air Force’s Top 3 priority acquisition program. Prior to this assignment, Colonel Newell served as the 7th Bomb Wing Vice Commander.

Col Newell received his commission in the USAF through the Weber State University Air Force ROTC program as a Distinguished Graduate in 2001. He has served as the RC-135 Evaluator Pilot, T-38 Pilot and the B-2 Wing Weapons Officer, as well at the Military Aide to the President of the United States. He also commanded the 13th Bomb Squadron, Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri where he was responsible for the conventional and nuclear combat readiness of the men and women in one of only two operational B-2 Stealth Bomber squadrons in the Air Force.

 

Col Newell is a Command Pilot with more than 2,600 flying hours.
