Bill “Murf” Murphy

Brig. Gen. William Murphy (USAF Reserves) serves as a Strategic Advisor at Small Business Consulting Corporation (SBCC) where he consults on education, training, leadership, and national security. He has over 20 years of Joint military experience including Presidential Strike Advisor, Deputy Director of Operations in the National Military Command Center, and most recently as Airborne Emergency Action Officer at USSTRATCOM. He has lectured and served on faculty or as senior mentor at National Defense University, Louisiana Tech University, and the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) where he authored and conducted the first USAF Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3) Executive Course.

He serves as Adjunct Professor of Nuclear Deterrence and Assurance; School of Strategic Force Studies, Air Force Institute of Technology, and as a Senior Fellow with Southeast Innovation Institute, and oversaw the curriculum development of Joint All-Domain Operations and Joint All-Domain Command and Control for the AFIT School of Strategic Force Studies and has published additional research on this topic in the Guide to Nuclear Deterrence in the Age of Great-Power Competition.

Mr. Murphy has completed course work at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Defense and Strategic Studies at Missouri State University and is currently serving as the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, United States Strategic Command.
