Shreveport, LA – The Small Business Consulting Corporation is proud to announce that we are a recipient of the Louisiana Innovation Retention Grant. This grant from Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is designed to help small businesses engaged in research and development receive additional support to “encourage the establishment and growth of high-quality, locally owned and operated technology businesses throughout the state.”

"I have enjoyed working with my legislative colleagues on the STEM Innovation caucus to bring more jobs and opportunities to Louisiana,” said Thomas A. Pressly, Louisiana State Senator for District 38, “Together, we passed legislation behind the Louisiana Innovation Retention Grant (IRG) program, which has changed our state's business landscape for the better. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a supportive environment for small businesses, empowering them to thrive and contribute to Louisiana's prosperity."

SBCC is happy to employ 29 incredibly talented innovators from across the state of Louisiana. This includes 18 alumni of Louisiana universities and 10 hired directly from LA schools through our internship and outreach programs. This grant allows us to continue our workforce development for Louisiana such as attending our first student employment fair with Grambling University.

The mission of SBCC is to rapidly integrate and transition the best commercial solutions to strengthen the DoD. To that end, we help connect innovative small businesses with the DoD to provide top-notch modernization solutions. That also provides small businesses with the opportunity to grow. We’re pleased to have successfully supported multiple Louisiana-based technology companies connect with the DoD including PRAESES, Metro Aviation, and Archem.

We at SBCC look forward to continuing our growth and innovation efforts in Louisiana, a state that so many of us call home.
